Running Activities
To run an activity using Activity File Transfer:
1. Logged in as an Enterprise Controller, select Activity Parameters;
2. Select an import, export or batch report activity;
For an import statement file activity, you will notice that there is an Upload Files button that allows the user to upload import files into the virtual directory utilised in the import directory. This feature is applicable to all the import activities including card import, supervisor import, etc.
3. Enter/select the Directory where the import file resides, where the export file is to be stored, or where the batched reports reside;
If the ProMaster instance is hosted, the Directory parameter is not editable. When this parameter is selected for the first time, the Directory Listing in the right pane will display a message "Current directory of xxxxxxx does not match Base directory". A directory with the name of the import/export activity will be created under the "activity" folder if the directory does not exist. The Directory parameter will be set to the "base directory/name of the activity" and the database will be updated automatically without the need to click on the Update Changes button.
If the ProMaster instance is not hosted, you will be able to create its own directory structure under the base directory. The Directory parameter field will be editable and the value can be set by browsing through the directory structure under the base directory i.e. docs/activity. The Directory parameter of the activity in the database will be updated automatically without the need to click on the Update Changes button.
4. Click Upload Files;
The Activity Parameters page appears.
5. Enter the Description and browse for the File to be uploaded/downloaded to the directory;
6. Click on Update Changes;
7. Process the activity as you normally would;
If you are running an export activity, the generated export file will appear in the directory listing in the right hand pane as a hyperlink.
8. Click on the generated export file in question;
If this setting is set to `Email' or `Download & Email', a pop-up window will appear.
If this setting is set to `Download', the generated export file will be opened.
9. From the pop-up window, enter the required e-mail address where the exported file will be e-mailed to;
10. Click on the Send Email button.
If the setting is `Email', the e-mail will be sent with the export file attached. A message will appear indicating the e-mail has been sent.
If the setting is `Download & Email', the e-mail will be sent with the export file attached. The file will then be opened afterwards.
