Changing Your Password

You can change your password at any time. Change your password regularly, as it is good security practice; and always choose a password of at least six characters in length that combines both numbers and letters.

The change password function is accessed by the Change Password button on the Profile Detail page.

Note:
This section is unnecessary if Single Sign-On has been activated for ProMaster.
To change your password:
1. Select the Profiles tab;
The Profile Detail page appears.
2. Click Change Password;
The Change Password page appears.
The level(s) of activated enhanced security is denoted by Security Level.
· Password History - every logon attempt is recorded.
· Password History(n) - the passwords used in the past (n) number of days cannot be used again. If n = 0, then all passwords used in the past cannot be used again.
· Strong Passwords - the format/constraints of the Password field.
If you have questions as to the level(s) of password control set up in ProMaster, refer to your Enterprise Controller
3. Enter your Current Password;
If Strong Passwords is activated:
· Disallows a password that contains the user's first name, surname or user name.
· Disallows a password that contains any word that makes up your company name.
· Is at least 8 characters in length.
· Includes at least 3 numeric and 5 letter characters.
4. Enter the New Password and confirm it in Confirm Password;
If you make a mistake, ProMaster will prompt you to re-enter the old password or the new password again.
5. Click Change Password.
Click Cancel to cancel changing your password.
Tip:
If for some reason you lose your password, contact your Enterprise Controller or Help Desk as they will be able to reset your password. When you logon for the first time with your reset password, ProMaster will prompt you for a new one.
