Single Sign-On (Optional)

With Single Sign-On, or LDAP (Lightweight Directory Access Protocol) integration feature, ProMaster will only allow users who are logged on the NT domain to access the system over the Web. Users will automatically be logged on to the application using the NT user that they are accessing the server with.

LDAP integration is enabled when a ProMaster user logs on to ProMaster. By ProMaster checking the current server session that includes the NT log details, it validates this information against the user profile stored within ProMaster.

If the user is a valid NT and ProMaster user, then accesses the ProMaster website, the Home Page will appear.

However, if the user accessing the ProMaster website is a valid NT user but not a valid ProMaster user, a logon error message will appear (see Authentication Fail Message).

To turn on Single Sign-on:
1. Run the configuration script, `Single_Sign_On.sql';
2. Open the IIS Management tool and select Properties for the ProMaster website that will have Single Sign-On;
3. Select the Directory Security tab;
4. Click the Edit button in the `Anonymous access and authentication control' section;
5. From the Authentication Methods window:
· Activate the Integrated Windows authentication flag
· De-activate the Anonymous access flag
6. Click on the OK button.
