Creating System GL Codes

This works in a similar way to personal GL codes. However, the Enterprise Controller sets them up at the system level. A new system GL code will affect all Account Holders to whom they are assigned. For example, a new system GL code may be generated to implement a government-imposed change to the taxation system.

To create a system GL code:

1. Select the Admin tab then select the System GL Codes option from the left-hand side of the page;

2. Enter "%%" into the Code field to bring up a complete list of segment codes;

3. From the System GL Codes page, select a GL segment from the drop-down list;

4. Click Add GL Code;

5. From the System GL Code Edit page, enter the GL segment code;

6. Enter a meaningful Description for the GL segment code;

7. Click Update Changes.

Note:

By default, a newly created System GL code is set to `Active'.

Tip:

If required, click the associated Edit GL Code icon and de-activate the Active flag if the segment code is not to be used.
